RBBA members and guests were treated to a special evening at the new
Capri Blu Italian Bistro and Wine Bar.
Capri Blu Manager and co-owner,
Michelle Limon, promised a wonderful evening for all of us and she definitely
kept her promise. The reception was held in their enclosed patio overlooking
a beautiful park and pond. The hors
d'oeuvres were exceptional with
samplings from their menu including
bruschetta, arancini, fried calamari,
a variety of pizzas, veal meatballs and
mushrooms stuffed with crab, cream
cheese and a touch of cavier.

The decor is definitely not old Italy.
It is more Italian chic with an urban flair
but very comfortable with absolutely
outstanding food. The buzz around the
reception was "I'll be back for more....and often". If you missed this reception,
put Capri Blu on your "must try" list of restaurants. In fact, put it on top of
your list. You will be happy you did and you can thank me later. Stop by for
their Happy Hour after work. Well drinks, tap beers and appetizers are half
price and delicious. To view the photo album from the evening click here.
For more information, check out their web site at: www.capri-blu.com. You
can make reservations by calling Capri Blu at (858) 673-5100. Capri Blu is
located in the 4S Commons Town Center at 10436 Craftsman Way, Suite 120,
in 4S Ranch off Rancho Bernardo Road.

On a sad note: RBBA member Ross Rizzo, owner of the Bernardo Winery,
passed away unexpectedly at the winery on Tuesday, January 15th. He will be
sorely missed by so many of us. I have known Ross since 1977 and have spent
many times with him on his golf cart tooling around the winery talking about
nothing and I will cherish every one of those times. At our reception on the
same day, January 15th, at Capri Blu, RBBA President Craig Brown recognized
Ross with these remarks:

"The RB Historical Society has worked with Ross Rizzo on a site for the
historical society at the Bernardo Winery since 1982 – beginning with the first
president of the RBHS, Larry McIntyre, until today, with the efforts of Tom
Cook, Susan Floyd and so many
others involved with the RBHS.

It is with great regret that I have
to tell you that Ross’s dream will
not be witnessed by him in person.
Ross passed away unexpectedly
today and I know many of you loved
this wonderful guy and will miss
him. But he will be there on the
9th of February, I can assure you,
looking down on his dream with
pride.

Our hearts go out to his wife Veronica and his sons Jimmy and Rossi and his
whole family. Ross Rizzo, a true legend in this town, will be missed for a very
long time."
