Our RBBA October reception, held at Mr. Charlie’s Fortune Cookie in the
Mercado, was a tremendous success. A drawing was held for two door prizes.
Congratulations to Cherie Carey, who will enjoy dinner for two at Carvers, and
Bert Morrison, who will receive dinner for two at Mr. Charlie’s Fortune Cookie.
Charlie Yang, owner of Mr. Charlie's Fortune Cookie, provided information
about his restaurant at the beginning of the evening. Charlie recommended the
new "American" lunch menu served in the lounge/bar area, which also offers a
Happy Hour menu, between 3 and 7pm that is a tremendous bargain. Check it
out after work soon.
The November reception held at the RB Inn was also a big hit. John Gates,
the RB Inn's General Manager, updated RBBA members on new guest room
upgrades and the anticipated new pavilion addition that will accommodate up
to 700 people.
Five lucky prize winners walked away with Carvers and RB Inn meal gift
certificates as well as a beautiful gift basket from Gift Basket Express.
Melvie Maigaard of Gift Basket Express had a beautiful display of her gift
basket selections for the upcoming holiday season. Melvie and husband Ronald
were busy all evening taking orders. This was the first booth at an RBBA
